Identity First: CMSUK’s debut podcast

Identity First is the podcast for real stories and true selves, hosted by Stephanie Fleet in association with CMSUK (Case Management Society UK).

In the debut episode, our wonderful Managing Director, Teresa, who is also on the CMSUK Board of Directors, was interviewed about the significance of identity in the industry.

Teresa played an influential part in setting up the CMSUK conference, which addressed the changing identities of case managers and clients alike.

She explains that, as case management evolves into a registered profession (thanks to the Institute of Registered Case Managers), professionals from various backgrounds, including nursing, occupational therapy, physio, and social care, are forming a new, unified identity.

This shift allows case managers to take a more tailored approach and to use their flair to cater to the exact needs of clients who have undergone a change in their identity after a traumatic event.

The discussion concludes with the idea that, although identity changes can be difficult, they can (and should!) also be embraced as positive opportunities – helping to shape us into the individuals we’re truly meant to be.
